NYSDOC – Queensboro Correctional Facility basic information to help guide you through what you can do for your inmate while they are incarcerated. The facility's direct contact number: 718-361-8920
This facility is for adult inmates.
The inmates housed at Queensboro Correctional Facility located at 47-04 Van Dam St in Long Island City, NY are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.
Queensboro Correctional Facility is located in Long Island City New York, part of Queens County. It is a minimum security prison with the primary purpose of acting as a re-entry center for male inmates. The current capacity of the Queensboro Correctional Facility is about 400 inmates.
Re-entry centers are limited to transitional services that prepare the offender for rejoining society as a productive member. Counseling is available to inmates, and a family services program and dedicated children's play area ensure families can prepare for the upcoming transition of the inmate returning home.
