The Montour County PA Prison is a medium-security detention center located at 117 Church St Danville, PA which is operated locally by the Montour County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Montour County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Danville Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.

The mission of the Montour County Prison is to protect society by providing incarceration of adjudicated offenders and persons suspected of being offenders of the law as a deterrent to the commission of crime while providing a safe and secure environment for offenders and staff; offering programs for personal growth and development and positive reintroduction into society; and providing basic physical, medical and mental health needs while protecting the basic constitutional rights of the offenders.
