The Currituck County Detention Center is a medium-security detention center located at 413 Maple Rd Maple, NC which is operated locally by the Currituck County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Currituck County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, municipalities, the US Marshal's Service and the Maple Police Department who do not have their own long-term lock-up.
The Currituck County Detention Center is committed to providing a clean, safe environment for those awaiting trial. In some instances, the center houses individuals with a post-trial sentence. The Detention Center can house up to 62 inmates. The facility can accommodate males and females, along with juvenile offenders. Detention Center staff also assist with transporting inmates to other facilities as needed.
