This facility is for adult inmates.

The inmates housed at ASPC Yuma-Dakota located at 7125 E Cesar Chavez Blvd in San Luis, AZ are placed according to their custody level (determined by a number of factors including the past criminal history and the length of their sentence). There are ample educational and vocational training programs for all inmates, especially ones that show a willingness to learn new things that will prepare them for a better life when they are released. The mission is to promote and prepare the offender to leave in better shape than when they arrived, giving them the best chance to never come back and thus lower the state's recidivism rate.

WORK INCENTIVE PAY PLAN (WIPP) allows inmates to utilize experience, training, and expertise in meaningful employment while supporting their needs. Arizona Correctional Industries contracted positions, Wild Land Fire Crew, kitchen positions, groundskeepers, and janitorial positions are available depending upon the inmate's skill level, education, and security classification. Both full and part-time positions are available.

Education Programs – Adult Basic Education classes are required for inmates who fall below the Literacy Standard. A high school education program is available for inmates who have not graduated from high school. Vocational education is contracted through a local community college and provides instruction in carpentry, masonry, and plumbing. Higher education is available through correspondence courses at the inmate's own expense.

Recreational Programs – Outdoor activities include softball, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, and various track and field events. The variety of activities available depends upon the inmate's security classification level. Indoor activities include a variety of board and card games. All activities are supervised and monitored by staff. In-house hobby craft include arts and crafts, drawing, painting, bead craft, plastic model kits, and other small crafts depending upon the inmate's security classification

General Population Visitation is on Saturdays, Sundays, 
and posted holidays in two time periods 
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 
12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Dakota

• General Population inmates may receive visits both days
• Length of visit will be determined by the inmate’s phase level.
• Non-Contact visits are held on Tuesdays and by appointment only (subject to availability –  you must call well in advance).
• Special Visits may be approved by the Dakota Deputy Warden at other times upon written request from the inmate at least 30 days in advance.
